Marketplace terms
PlantPal Hire is a transaction marketplace. Enquiries, quotes, bookings, invoices and payments run on the platform so both sides get records, protection and dispute handling.
Booking protection only applies on-platform. Hire arrangements paid outside PlantPal Hire carry no invoice trail, no payout record, no verified review and no dispute support from us.
1. How a hire is transacted
A customer posts a requirement or requests a quote. Suppliers respond with a quote inside PlantPal Hire. When a quote is accepted, PlantPal Hire issues the booking, the deposit invoice and the tax invoice, and the customer pays through PlantPal Hire.
PlantPal Hire charges a platform commission of 7.5% of the booking value. The commission is shown on every booking and deducted from the supplier payout.
2. Supplier terms — no circumvention
Suppliers must not intentionally bypass PlantPal Hire to avoid platform fees on hires with customers introduced through PlantPal Hire. This applies to the introduced hire and to repeat hires with that customer for 12 months after the introduction, subject to applicable law.
Suppliers must not publish phone numbers, personal email addresses, WhatsApp numbers, external websites or banking details in public listings, profiles or messages before a booking is confirmed, and must not solicit direct payment outside PlantPal Hire.
Repeated circumvention may result in reduced listing visibility, withheld payouts on the affected bookings, or removal from the marketplace.
3. Customer terms
Customers should keep enquiries, quotes, bookings and payments on PlantPal Hire. Paying a supplier directly removes platform protections: no PlantPal Hire invoice, no payment record, no verified booking history, and no access to PlantPal Hire dispute resolution.
Supplier contact details are shared once a booking is confirmed, for delivery and site coordination only.
4. Messaging and monitoring
Messages that appear to share phone numbers, email addresses, banking details or off-platform payment instructions are flagged for review by the PlantPal Hire team. Legitimate operational information is not blocked; flagged messages are reviewed in context.
5. Payments and payouts
Live card, EFT and payout processing goes live once a payment provider is connected. Until then PlantPal Hire records the payment instruction, invoice, commission and payout position against every booking. No funds are captured and no payment is treated as settled until a provider is live.
6. General
These terms apply alongside country-specific consumer and competition law in each market PlantPal Hire operates in. Where a clause conflicts with mandatory local law, that law prevails.
